Current HVAC Rebates

Electric forced-air furnace, or resistance heating to heat pump conversion

  • Get $1,500 in HVAC rebates when you replace your electric forced-air furnace, or resistance heating with a qualifying unitary air-source heat pump (ducted or ductless). 


Requirements:

  • You must be a current PSE single family residential electric customer. Single-family new construction, multifamily (5 or more attached units) and commercial accounts are not eligible. 
  • Your primary and current space heating system must be an electric forced-air furnace or resistance heating (baseboard, wall heaters). 
  • Customers with existing natural gas forced-air furnaces or natural gas boilers are not eligible. 
  • Customers with existing heat pumps are not eligible. 
  • Heat pump must have an HSPF of at least 8.5, or HSPF2 of at least 7.2. For units that have both HSPF and HSPF2, the HSPF rating will be used to determine eligibility.
  • Must install to comply with all federal, state and local code requirements. 

Gas Furnace to heat pump conversion

Convert your gas furnace to a qualifying heat pump system and receive $3,000 back from Puget Sound Energy when you switch to a qualifying ducted or ductless heat pump system.


Requirements:

  • You must be a PSE gas and PSE electricity (dual fuel) customer who currently heats with natural gas.
  • Customers with pre-existing heat pumps are not eligible.
  • Existing gas furnaces must be removed and fully replaced by the new heat pump system to qualify.
  • Heat pumps must be installed to comply with all federal, state, and local code requirements.
  • Customers must install an AHRI Certified® heat pump system that qualifies for the IRS Tax Credit to qualify for the HVAC rebates.

Natural gas forced-air furnace

Receive a $250 rebate incentive from Puget Sound Energy when you purchase an AHRI Certified® or ENERGY STAR® qualified high-efficiency natural gas forced-air furnace for your home. 


Requirements:

  • You must be a current PSE single-family residential natural gas customer. Single-family new construction, multi­family (5 or more attached units) and commercial accounts are not eligible. 
  • You must install an AHRI or ENERGY STAR® certified natural gas furnace with 95% annual eligible for reduced rebate amounts. 
  • Any natural gas furnace installed with a new or existing heat pump is not eligible for a rebate.
  • Your new furnace installation must comply with all federal, state and local code requirements.

Natural gas tankless water heater

Receive a $250 HVAC rebate incentive from Puget Sound Energy when you upgrade to a qualifying energy-efficient natural gas tankless water heater.


Requirements:

  • You must be a current PSE residential natural gas customer. 
  • Applies to existing single-family properties only. 
  • Single-family new construction, multi­family (5 or more attached units) and commercial accounts are not eligible.
  • Qualifying gas equipment must be installed in PSE's gas service area. 
  • Rebates only available on new, qualifying equipment. 
  • Must install to comply with all federal, state and local code requirements. 
  • Equipment that is replaced under warranty will not be eligible for a second rebate. 
  • Natural gas tankless water heaters must be ENERGY STAR qualified.
  • Uniform Energy Factor  UEF ≥ 0.87 
  • Maximum Gallons Per Minute   Max GPM ≥ 2.8  

Smart thermostat rebate

Manage your home's energy by purchasing a new ENERGY STAR qualified smart thermostat and receive a $75 rebate incentive from Puget Sound Energy. 


Requirements:

  • Must be a current PSE residential customer, with electric heat or natural gas heat provided by PSE 
  • Thermostat must be ENERGY STAR qualified. 
  •  Limit 1 smart thermostat per PSE residential customer. • 
  • Limit 5 line voltage connected smart thermostats per PSE electric residential customer. 

Seattle City Light Rebates

Heat pump install

Receive a $400-600 upfront rebate added to your estimate to install a new heat pump. 


Requirements:

  • You must be a current SCL single family residential electric customer.
  • You must ask about the current rebate incentive when we come to do an estimate for you so that we can discount the rebate amount from your estimated total.

Parkland Light & Water Rebates

Ductless Heat Pump program

Homes (site built or manufactured homes) with forced air electric furnaces, electric baseboard, electric wall heaters or electric ceiling cable – the rebate incentive is $800. 

Ducted Heat Pump Conversion program

 

Air Source Heat Pump Conversions:

Homes (site built or manufactured homes) with ducted electric forced air furnaces – the rebate incentive is $1,000.


Variable Speed Air Source Heat Pump Conversions:

Homes (site built or manufactured homes) with ducted electric forced air furnaces – the rebate incentive is $1,200.


The High-Efficiency Electric Homes and Rebates Act (HEEHRA)

 

Rebate Incentive:    Qualifying households can use up to a total of $14,000 in HEEHRA rebates or $8,000 towards heat pumps.


 

 

Details: 

  •  Reserved for households making less than 150% of the area median income (AMI) as defined by the Department of Urban Housing and Development (HUD). 
  •  Households making less than 80% of area median income can use the rebates to cover 100% of the cost of equipment and installation for energy efficient appliances and home upgrades. 
  •  Households making between 80-150% can use the rebates to cover 50% of the equipment and installation costs. 
  •  Maximum $8,000 for heat pumps.
  • Limited availability.
  • Effective TBD and run through September 30, 2031. 
  • The Department of Energy is still working out the details. Details on this rebate program and availability are expected towards the end of 2024. Contact us to be placed on our waiting list and we will contact you as soon as we have all the details.
